Who Is N5 For?
Learners who have studied Japanese for 3–6 months, have just finished hiragana and katakana, and are beginning to work through basic grammar. An N5 pass makes a solid foundation for further study and everyday workplace Japanese.
N5 Key Exam Points
- Must-know grammar: basic particles such as は・が・を・に・で・と, the three verb-conjugation groups, the te-form and ます-form, and basic adjectives
- Must-know vocabulary: everyday-life words, verbs, adjectives, time expressions and numbers
