「noun ＋ に沿(そ)って／に沿った」 has two commonly-tested senses: ① spatially “along”: 「海岸線に沿ってドライブした」 (drove along the coastline); ② abstractly “following, in line with” (a policy, plan, expectation): 「スケジュールに沿って準備を進める」 (proceed with preparations along the schedule), 「方針に沿って行動する」 (act in line with the policy).
